From ancient Egypt to Hypatia’s Alexandria, the serpent consuming its own tail marked infinite cycles and hidden power.

Hypatia of Alexandria thought in stars while the world around her burned.

A philosopher, mathematician, and astronomer in fifth-century Alexandria, she moved through a world built to silence women and obey power. Hypatia did neither.

She taught. She questioned. She studied the heavens. Her mind made order from the cosmos, even as the society around her turned violent, rigid, and afraid of women who could not be controlled.
