Step into the powerful legacy of the Threads of Resistance collection and immerse yourself in the story of the fearless women who shaped the Turkish War of Independence. These women supported the resistance through intelligence and logistics, and also by commanding forces and leading movements that changed the course of history. Their fight was not only for the nation’s independence but for their own right to be recognized as equal participants in shaping the future.

Women like Kara Fatma (Fatma Seher Erden), who led an army of 700 soldiers, and Halide Edib Adıvar, whose powerful speeches and writings rallied the people, proved that their fearlessness. These heroines walked onto battlefields, stood at the front lines, and ensured their voices were heard in the formation of a new republic. Threads of Resistance seeks to bring their narratives to light, honoring their bold spirit and resilience.

The collection embodies this strength by merging the history of their fight with tradition women's handcraft from the region.
